James A. Terrell (Jim) December 1947 - May 2012 After a courageous battle with cancer, James A. Terrell (Jim) passed away at his home in Pearland, TX on May 8, 2012. Receiving of friends and funeral services will be held at First Christian Church of Crescent, 201 North Hickory, Crescent, OK on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 1:00pm, with burial following at Banner Cemetary in Kingfisher. Jim was born in Kingfisher and grew up in Dover. Jim served his country with honor as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. In addition to several other medals, he also received the Purple Heart. After earning his Master's degree in Mathematics from Clemson University, Jim enjoyed working as a statistician and travelling the world. Over the course of his career, Jim worked at Pratt & Whitney, PPG Industries, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Terrell; children, Kristie Terrell-Spearman, Sandra Callahan, and John Terrell; brothers, Richard, George, Keith, and John Charles Terrell; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Marjorie Terrell, and his brother, Daniel Terrell. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Banner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ: 735 Buffalo Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, attention Dot Williams, Treasurer; the Boy Scouts of America; the Girl Scouts of America; or any charity of your choice.
